As I have noted on this topic before, counterfeits are the bane of the fashion world and purses are near the top of the list of fakes.
There are a few common traits of fakes versus real luxury purses. The two examples below are easy to use, even if you are in line behind someone at the checkout. Yes, you are free to feel morally superior.
The most common fail in fakes is the exterior material, which is usually plastic. Plastic is cheap and easy to produce in any color or style. Plastic does not hold up or feel like real leathers and exotic materials.
Stitching in real luxury purses is always exact, even and clean. Doing so takes time and skill, something that a faker doesn’t have the patience to do.
There are lots of other ways to spot fakes, those are a couple of quickies.
